VLE's

We don't supply VLE's or support them but there is a grey area where our Content management system offers similar functionality. We don't know what VLE you have, some are good some less so.

There are many free 'Open source' content management and learning management systems and some really are excellent. However, even the briefest scratch beneath the surface will prove that you definitely do need more than a little technical knowledge to set them up and modify them. Therefore any sensible solution is going to involve an outlay.

Our content management system is so easy to use it gets used. It can't replace a VLE - it isn't intended to - but some staff will find it easier to use so it can compliment your VLE or ease staff into using an upload facility. It could even be regarded as a second channel. No content is published to the site until approved by your designated administrator and users can't delete other users work.

We are publishing movies shortly showing the system in use as a support VLE.

During 2009 we are preparing material suitable for VLE's - ie smaller file sizes.

When staff and students are accessing material via non broadband connections and mobile phones, people will be looking at file size again.... it's almost nostalgic. I can almost hear the tones of our old US Robotics 28k 'Speedstar' dialling in...
